What is AI Discoverability?
Buyers increasingly ask AI assistants who to trust before they ever run a search. AI Discoverability is how well those systems can find, understand, and recommend your company. Unlike search, there is no page two: you are in the answer or you are not.
What it means for your company
A company can rank well on Google and still be invisible to AI. When we asked a web-connected AI who to use for fund administration in Luxembourg, two-thirds of the established firms never appeared. Those firms lose shortlists they never knew existed — and cannot see it happening.
How AI sees your company
AI assembles a picture of you — your AI identity — from everything it can read: your site, LinkedIn, press, directories. If those sources are vague or contradict each other, the model hedges, misfiles you, or leaves you out. Clarity and coherence across the whole footprint is what makes you recommendable.
Measuring it: the 8 dimensions
Discoverability can be measured. Eight dimensions determine whether AI can recommend you well — from Positioning Clarity (can it tell what you do, instantly?) through Entity Authority (does it believe you are real and credible?) to Agent Readiness (can an AI agent extract your pricing and capabilities?).
Fixing it: measure, fix, prove
Monitoring alone shows you the problem. The discipline is a loop: measure what AI actually says, make the specific content changes on-site and off-site that correct the story, then re-measure to prove the change moved. Proof — a before and after — is what separates a fixed identity from a hopeful one.
See the gap yourself
The same buyer-style question, answered by AI about two real companies from our scans (challenger anonymised). Toggle between them.
“Absolutely — they’re one of the leading platforms in this space. They offer a well-documented API, transparent pricing, and are widely used by companies from startups to enterprises. I’d confidently include them on a shortlist.”
One of these companies is winning shortlists it never sees. The other is losing them. Scores from our scans: the leader pattern measures around 89/100; the challenger pattern around 40/100.
